Fundamentally, an e-bike is just a regular bicycle with an electric motor to provide additional assistance. you can pedal normally and just use the motor to help out. I'd go one minimalist step further and try booting without the hdd, leaving only cpu/gpu/ram. if it posts then enter setup and try changing something, saving. I have a late 80’s about 89 ez go gas golf cart. we use it at the lake only. had it for 3 summers – literally very little maintence issues..
